the rifles lost away at bp by 48 points to 12
after a soft start where we conceeded 3 tries in the first 15 minutes , we got stuck in and made a game out of the last hour where they were always the better side but at least they were made to work for their points
many thanks to the lads who came with us last minute, for a tough fixture

LOOSED;- Having ref'd you 3 times this season, I felt it was your best team performance by far. decent players in crucial positions allowed ALL team members a chance to play their part. Good performances from the key positions 1,2,3,8,9 & 10. You have at least 2 players capable of 3rd team rugby on that showing.

The 4th travelled to Hull again, this time to come away with a hard fought win over Riding Vikings, 27-12. The greens had a confident start, scoring two quick tries, Neil Wainer and Iain Spence, with the back three of Steve Geraghty Touche Turtle and Tim Foster enjoying the free running counter-attacking responding to Vikings strangely adopting a kicking 1st half, ( too much t.v watching ) from one of these kicks Tim Foster took off up the left wing from within the 22m chipped and caught his own kick before feeding to Steve Geraghty to burst through a slack defence to score, Ginge Eales kicked the conversion and a penalty before half time to leave the score 20-0. Just after the break Vikings opted to go uncontested in the scrum, but the greens seemed to go uncontested in all other aspects of the game as they let in two soft tries. The Greens regrouped and started to dominate the loose play again, but gallant defence from the Vikings prevented the Greens scoring on 3 separate occasions, before the final try scored by Ricky Roberts sniping from the back of a maul, converted by Eales leaving the final score 27-12. The referee was by far the best ref we've had away this season.

6th's report... just to rephrase the report.... I didnt loose the plot... never do..
The 6ths made an exellent start agaist selby with great tries from Phil Morland and then another from Jon Conroy, the pace of the game was probably the fastest that has been played at this level this season.. the 6ths then slowed down, thinking the win was theirs, didnt play for 20mins of the game and let Selby back in and take the lead... the 6ths then started to play as they know how and were unfortunate not to score another 4 tries, 1 disallowed from oldridge, 1 held up from jc, 1 dropped short of the line from hannah and 1 dropped over the line from hutton and lost the game 18- 12, if these tries were made, the game would have been won...
Great displays from endericks, white, hutton, twin oldridges, jc, wayne, morland.....

The third team were away against Leodensians thirds in the annual Nobby Clarke cup.
Despite playing on a pitch that resembled a pig sty, and with uncontested scrums from the start (despite Leo's having 25 players and deploying rolling substitutes!!), the Greens were victorious by 32-14. Tries for Redmile, Hercus, Ian Lee and Hewitt, with Ian Lee kicking three conversions and two penalties.
Thanks to those players who agreed to travel away with the thirds at very short notice.

The Stags beat Hull 2nd XV 14-6 with tries from Jones and A Neal both converted by T Alldridge.
Excellent victory and one of the team performances of the season.
