Remember how good last years ball was, well this year will be even better… Rifle ‘s productions presents the
2009 Summer ball SAT 13TH JUNE Start 7_30 prompt
An Evening of swing
Featuring the Syd Allen 16 piece big band
Imagine a beautiful June evening, meeting at your favourite place, being served Hors d’ouvres and aperitifs the evening sun overlooking the picture perfect Helsam park, while a piano player tinkles some of your favourite big band numbers hinting at the delights in front of us.
You will be seated at 8_30, a quick game of heads and tails to give you a chance to pay for the evening, then on to a sumptuous summer main course, sweet and finally for the really hungry cheese and biscuits.
Then the real treat begins as the band starts to play, gently to start with as the meal settles, but picking up in tempo, until it is all hands on the dance floor for the final set.
Don’t miss it, tickets £35 each, special deals for tables of 10.
Dress code-Black tie and best summer gowns.

Well you've done it again DB What a perfect night ,we think that the start to the evening was spot on instead of sitting down to your starter you got to mill around and socialise with everyone. Good grub good company and what a band (straight out of poggy's era) Thanks for a good night and looking forward to next year already. Lets hear it for Rifle productions.

why thanks you prof
the weather certainly did its bit
the dilemna is how to make the ball appeal to a wider audience, great support from the alikadoos, but there was a real lack of players, both senior and junior and a lot of effort went into selling the 82 spaces that were taken especially by the tabe organisers it has to be said that Kathryn and Caz could not have been easier to work with, they were enthusiastic from the start, and did a great job of the food and preparing the place
it was great to see a good turn out from the 3rd team younger guys with dan and matt both leading a table
i didnt get everything right, so there is still some room for improvement

Making the ball appeal to a wider audience??
Its a shame that more people dont try it cos once there I'm sure they'd enjoy it as much as we did.I know that money's perhaps a little tight at the moment but its still very good value.
Maybe a "what do you want at a Club Ball" would do the trick to find what the widers want,Me & mrs Prof are delighted as it was.

On behalf of Zoe and I we would like to thank you Micky for preparing, organising and delivering a brilliant night. I don't know how you managed to book the glorious weather too but it all amounted to a great night.
The Hors d’ouvres and aperitifs worked superbly well. It was so much more informal and relaxed and coupled with the weather made the start to the night very enjoyable.
Caz worked her magic in the kitchen to prepare a fantastic meal. If our wedding food is only half as enjoyable then our guests are in for a treat.
The Syd Allen 16 piece big band were superb. To even get some one as shocking at dancing as me onto the dance floor shows they must have been good.
The band were so good that there was no room to dance. Those that didn't buy a ticket missed a fantastic night. But then that leaves a question of how many more people could you have fit into the function room comfortably?
Thanks once again Micky
